Alchemy - Can Thoughts Purify Water and Food?

Alchemy is not just changing base metal to gold. Spiritual teacher Jim Self, founder of Mastering Alchemy, states that "alchemy is first recognizing all that is possible, and then transforming one possibility into another. Alchemy is accomplished by changing the frequency of thought, altering the harmonics of matter, and applying the elements of Love to create the desired results."

In a similar vein, Dr. Emoto, a Japanese subtle energy field (Hado) researcher, teaches that water has a bio-resonance field and is impacted by human thought and actions.

"Hado* creates words. Words are the vibrations of nature Therefore beautiful words create beautiful nature Ugly words create ugly nature. This is the root of the universe." ~ Dr. Masaru Emoto, author "Hidden Messages in Water"

"Hado" refers to the intrinsic vibrational pattern at the atomic level in all matter. It is the smallest unit of energy and its basis is the energy of human consciousness. Dr Emoto's water crystal research proves that thoughts and words have the power to change water on a molecular level. He experimented with different words affixed to water jugs, then studied under a microscope as the water froze. The water jugs with positive words like "love and gratitude" created incredibly beautiful and unique crystal patterns like snowflakes. The water jugs with ugly words like "I hate you" would not organize into crystalline structures and remained incoherent and muddy.

Emoto took water samples from a polluted lake in Japan, and you can see how muddy and unstructured it was, when compared with the beautiful clear crystal taken one hour later after a priest prayed. The implications are enormous for our ability to clean up our environment.

Here in Florida, the water is so nasty even my dog Suki wouldn't drink it. So I spent years researching how to improve our tap water, and now have several systems in place to filter, oxygenate and remineralize it so we all enjoy the taste more and stay hydrated. Since becoming aware of Emoto's research, you can bet I placed stickers with words like Love and Gratitude on my water container and everyone comments how great it tastes!

Applying the Elements of Love through Chanting

However, this is not entirely a new awareness. In 1990 I lived in a meditation ashram and often did service in the kitchen. We were advised how important it was to maintain a high vibration while handling all aspects of food preparation as our thoughts and feelings would be transmitted to the food. We were asked to remain silent unless necessary, to eliminate gossip and negativity. A beautiful devotional chant was constantly playing that Indian sages concurred that both the melody and the mantras were particularly beneficial during food prep and eating. Even though I really disliked all facets of food prep, I was often in deep states of bliss in that kitchen.

At first blush I admit the rules seemed a bit, well, fanatic. However, I was shown the opposite effects very clearly one day when I was eating out at a restaurant with a fellow ashram resident. We were both feeling queasy towards the end of the meal, even though we ordered totally different lunches, so it did not appear to be food poisoning. The food was not digesting well and we couldn't quite figure it out.

As we debated what was causing our indigestion, we began to hear shouts emanating from the kitchen, and the crash of pots and pans flinging against a wall. Next the waitress came running out crying-clearly not a happy environment! We immediately understood why we were not feeling well! It was the vibration that was going into the food from the stressed out angry chef, not the food itself.

Altering the harmonics of matter with Reiki

I have been practicing Reiki, a natural energy healing method, for 18 years. In the very first class we learned we could apply Reiki, or universal life force, to our water and food to raise the vibration. I have been applying this healing energy to my food and water for many years, especially when eating out.

For validation, for the past 5 years my partner (and Reiki student) and I would compare notes while applying Reiki to our meals. Our results always matched and some patterns began to emerge. Whenever we prepared food at home, it always held a high vibration and radiated energy back to us. It did not seem to matter if it was organic, vegan, raw or highly processed junk food. It was in our unified field and already seemed to hold a high vibration.

However, when we went out to eat it was quite varied. Sometimes it would take several minutes of Reiki till the food and water felt vibrationally higher. This food would draw energy from my hands like a thirsty desert dweller, and then finally subside and even out. Other times it would feel even and balanced; only requiring a few seconds of energy. On rare occasions the food would be such a high vibration, it would be giving energy back and flow out so strong it seemed to be healing me!

Changing frequency of thought through Intention

Then one day about a year ago, right before I ate I caught a frequent thought pattern-"This food is probably really bad for me". I spend a lot of time researching natural healing and healthy foods and of course pesticide-free, organic, living and whole food ranks high on my list of "shoulds"-though unfortunately this is not always how I eat. I realized my thoughts are too powerful to be so negative about my food and perhaps, more potent even than pesticides-my thoughts are literally poisoning me! While I may not have control over how pure all my food is, I do have control over my thinking.

That very day we began to install a new intention: "All my food/water nourishes me at the highest level". While it did not shift over night, we both noticed a significant change in the vibration of all of our food. Now whenever we Reiki our food, no matter where or what we eat, (yes this includes the rare but occasional fast food while traveling) it has a steady and vibrant pulsing giving-back energy!

We are all energetic beings, living in an energetic world, and we all have the power, through our thoughts, feelings, and healing energy, to purify and uplift our food, our water, our planet, our selves! We are all Alchemists!

Words, Thoughts, Water and YOU

"Beautiful words have beautiful, clear vibrations. But negative words put out ugly, incoherent vibrations which do not form clusters. Language is not something artificial, but rather is something that exists naturally. I believe that language is created by nature." ~Masaru Emoto

o Scientific research claims that human beings think anywhere between 12,000-60,000 thoughts in a day. More than 90% of these thoughts are not new. They are the same as you had the day before, the week before or the month before. And more than 80% of these thoughts are negative and self-critical.

o Words, thoughts, emotions, ideas, images are energy. They are vibrations and have a frequency.

o Water constitutes more than 70% of our bodies and more than 70% of the Earth.

Thoughts and water? 70%? What's the connection and what's their significance?

Scientific research: Hidden Messages of Water

Dr. Masaru Emoto, a Japanese scientific researcher and healer, conducted research on water to understand its influence on the health of human beings. He conducted numerous experiments on different samples of water drawn from different sources. When concentrated and specific thoughts were directed towards the water samples, changes were perceived in the crystalline structure of the frozen water.

His experiments, findings and theories are detailed in his book, The Hidden Messages of Water.

"The Hidden Messages in Water is an eye-opening theory showing how water is deeply connected to people's individual and collective consciousness.

Drawing from his own research, scientific researcher, healer, and popular lecturer Dr. Masaru Emoto describes the ability of water to absorb, hold, and even retransmit human feelings and emotions. Using high-speed photography, he found that crystals formed in frozen water reveal changes when specific, concentrated thoughts are directed toward it.

Music, visual images, words written on paper, and photographs also have an impact on the crystal structure. Emoto theorizes that since water has the ability to receive a wide range of frequencies, it can also reflect the universe in this manner.

He found that water from clear springs and water exposed to loving words shows brilliant, complex, and colorful snowflake patterns, while polluted water and water exposed to negative thoughts forms incomplete, asymmetrical patterns with dull colors.

Emoto believes that since people are 70 percent water, and the Earth is 70 percent water, we can heal our planet and ourselves by consciously expressing love and goodwill." ~ Amazon.com Review

"Think of it in terms of vibration. It's easy to understand that language -- the spoken word -- has a vibration. Well, written words also have a vibration. Anything in existence has a vibration." ~Masaru Emoto

Words, emotions, thoughts, images, ideas not only have an impact on us, they have an impact on the environment around us. Negative thoughts/emotions/words/ideas/images vibrate at lower frequencies compared to their positive counterparts. Negative energies, as we all know, can be depressing, draining, demotivating, unhealthy and disempowering while positive energies can be uplifting, energizing, inspiring and empowering.

Water is vital to life

For thousands of years, spiritual scientists, wise teachers and cultures all over the world have known and understood that energy is all there is. They not only recognized and understood the power of energy in various forms and formless and the properties of the energy - they also effectively used this knowledge in their daily lives to heal, cure and promote life.

Ether (Space/Sky), Air, Fire/Light, Water, Earth are the basic five elements of energy (Pancha Bhoothas)that form the building blocks of nature and this universe - basically, everything on this planet is created from these basic five elements - all minerals, plants, animals and human beings. That our human bodies comprise of 70% of water and the earth comprises of 70% of water signifies how vital water is to the creation, existence and sustenance of life on this planet. No wonder, space research is so focused on discovering traces of water on moon and other planets for signs of life.

Some interesting tit bits on water and its power of healing

o "Holy water", water blessed through chants or name of the Creator/God/Spirit (or water stored in silver or gold vessels and exposed to solar and lunar light), forms an important part of rituals all over the world. Civilizations, cultures and religions (Hinduism, Christianity, Islam, Judaism, Paganism etc.) across the world have believed in the power of water in healing and promoting life for centuries.

o Water is the only chemical substance among thousands of chemicals tested by scientists that could detect the subtle vibrations that reach the earth from stars and planets thousands of miles away. This also proves that ancient people understood the mysterious powers of water and inculcated the practice of bathing in rivers on specific days when the water receives vibrations from other planets and galaxies. (Sakthi Foundation Org)

o Dr. Masaru Emoto treated water with aromatic oils and was surprised to observe the water crystals which were similar to the look of the flowers that the aroma oils were made from. This explains again why in Indian temples, herbs were added to the water before chanting of Vedic scriptures. The most common herbs used include bilva, basil, camphor, neem, turmeric, darba grass etc. This herbal water is usually given to the devotees after worship. (Sakthi Foundation Org)

o The river Ganga, one of the largest rivers in India, has been known for ages as the holy river. Its "holy" waters are considered purifying with an extraordinary ability to heal, cure and prevent diseases. Apparently, the water carries "bacteriophages that vanquish bacteria and more" (Source: Wikipedia) and has a "unique and extraordinary ability to retain dissolved oxygen, but the reason for this ability is unknown" (Source: Wikipedia). It has remarkable self-cleansing properties.

The Power of Consciousness on Cellular Behaviour - Changing Thoughts & Emotions For a Healthier Life

Understanding that a cell's behaviour is controlled by its physical and energetic environment and not its genes, or how your cells respond to your thoughts and actions, can literally change the course of your life. Think about how you physically feel when you are stressed, angry, unhappy? What about when you are happy, loved or in love, laughing? New biology is on the frontiers of research demonstrating how your thoughts and emotions can change the behaviour of cells (without changing their genetic code).

Many people have heard of Dr. Masaru Emoto and his research with water. Dr. Emoto has published at least 6 books now with photographs demonstrating the effect on ice crystal formation on water that has had positive words taped to the dish, or negative words (as well as different types of music). This was indeed part of the inspiration behind Creo Mundi - the fact that the human body is over 70% water, thus if we surround the body with positive words perhaps we can fundamentally change the way people think about themselves (in a positive way).

Now Dr. Bruce Lipton has published a book "The Biology of Belief, Unleashing the Power of Consciousness, Matter & Miracles" where he describes the research demonstrating at a scientific level how your cells respond to your thoughts and perceptions. Dr. Lipton, a cellular biologist, describes his own "light bulb" moment as the moment when he realized that it is the physical and energetic environment that controls a cell's behaviour, not its genes. The genes he says are simply "molecular blueprints used in the construction of cells, tissues, and organs".

Even if you are not a molecular biologist, this simple statement has a ring of truth to it. As a nurse, I've believed for years that stress can change the physical environment of cells that in turn makes them more susceptible to viruses and cancers. The physical environment changes the behaviour of the cell.

I've seen people told they have months to live, go on to live many more years. And I've seen people told they have a year to live die exactly one year later. The difference in many cases was simply the attitude of the person - did they fight the diagnosis? Did they create visualizations, having a loving support system, eat healthily, remove themselves from stress wherever they could? Or did they accept the diagnosis, get their affairs in order, and basically live their life as a count-down to their final days? The genes may be creating one thing (the construction blueprint), but the environment can turn it into something else (the behaviour). Dr. Lipton's statement about the physical and energetic environment makes it easier to change ones perception on how the energy in Intention for example really can affect your physical environment.

The work in this area is exploding, and while many people remain unconvinced, my own feeling is that just because you can't see it doesn't mean it isn't there. All it means is that our science has not yet caught up to being able to capture the data in a meaningful way. You can't see gravity, but you can feel it. You can't see energy from your body, but you can feel it.

So perhaps it is time to start paying attention to what you think on a daily basis, who or what you surround yourself with, and the actions you take each day. You really are in control of your own environment, so start making positive choices for a healthier being.

The Power of Thoughts on Plants and Water

My friend Debra believes fervently in the power of thoughts. When she wants something, she fixes its image in her mind, nourishes the thought daily with expectation and gratitude. Then she waits. Invariably, whether it takes 2 days, 2 months or 2 years, she gets what she desires. She has shown repeatedly that there is power in thoughts.

What she has fixed in her mind invariably appears--in one form or another--a mantel clock that is a perfect replica of one she saw in a magazine, a parking spot that miraculously opens up in a blizzard, the ideal companion for a lonely, divorced friend, a perfect location for her husband's new business. Her life is filled with the blessings of a pure and gentle heart, one that knows how to ask and wait for it to be given.

The more I am in touch with her, the less surprised I am about her clear and prescient way of receiving gifts from the universe. After all, we have seen a pronounced paradigm shift in the last 25 years, a shift in the way we perceive the world and our role within it. We now recognize that there is not only power in our thoughts, but power in the thoughts of the natural kingdom. As humans, we have arrogantly secluded ourselves from the plant, animal and mineral worlds, thinking that we have been the only species privileged with thought and power.

Not so any more, according to two books --Masaro Emoto's "The Hidden Messages of Water"(2004): and Cleve Backster's "Primary Perception: Biocommunication with Plants, Living Foods and Human Cell"( 2003)-- both released within the last 3 years, in tune with a growing recognition that we are no longer the only sentient species in the universe. These books introduce us not only the secret life of water, but the secret thoughts of plants.

Masaru Emoto, a renowned Japanese researcher and independent thinker, shocked and inspired the world with his high-speed photographs of water structure shot at the moment of freezing. What these photographs showed was that water responded directly to human thoughts, words and even music. Crystals formed in frozen water changed their formation and behavior in response to specific thoughts or words directed at them. Water blessed with benevolence and love, for example, displayed brilliant and symmetrical patterns. Water, exposed to negative thoughts and words, assumed asymmetrical, incomplete and despondent shapes.

Emoto has come to see that water is not an inanimate substance; it is able to "copy" and "memorize" information. Memory is alive and pulsing though the entire universe; the rock in our garden is not just a rock; it carries layers of memories striated like a cartilege beneath its surface--all the more reason for us to give it reverence. Our own memories are carried in our cells; these memories are formed by the words we speak and the thought we entertain in our minds. Emoto says," In Japan, it is said that words of the soul reside in a spirit called...the 'spirit of words' and the act of speaking words has the power to change the world."

If water can respond to human thoughts, so can plants, claims Cleve Backster in his book. Considered a leading authority in polygraph and lie detection, Backster attached electrodes from his polygraph machine to a plant stalk in order to measure the time needed for water to travel up the plant to reach the leaves. In the process of this experiment, he discovered that the plant could respond to human thought; a thought of burning the leaves of the plant registered wild and erratic movement in the polygraph chart. This was the beginning of his lifelong interest in understanding the cellular communication process, what he calls "Primary Perception," the ability of plant, animal and human cells to perceive and respond at both local and nonlocal levels.

Devising further experiments, he discovered that cellular memory and communication can transcend both space and time and can be measured: plants reacted to the boiling of brine shrimp in water; yogurt reacted to the death of bacteria even when these experiments were carried out miles apart. In an interview, Backster recounted a visit from a botanist to his laboratory that brought about a strange response from his plants: the graphs showed a wandering flatline that indicated the plants were in a state of shock. Prompted by their reaction, he asked his guest if she had done anything to hurt the plants she worked with." Her response was comically in line: "Hurt them? My dear, I roast them to get their dry weight." Over 40 years of research has bolstered his observation: that plant, animal, even bacteria cells are sentient organisms that responded to thought or intention, engaged in a primary perception that we, of the modern, human world, seem to have forgotten.

In summary, let me quote not from Sufi mystics or poets, but from one of the leading scientists and thinker of our times--physicist David Bohm whose book "Wholeness and the Implicate Order"(1980) is a major catalyst of our paradigm shift. Bohm speaks of two orders in the universe--the explicate or unfolded order of ordinary perception and the implicate or enfolded order of extraordinary perception. This is what he says: In the implicate order, "space and time are no longer the dominant factors determining the relationships of dependence or independence of different elements. Rather, an entirely different sort of basic connection of elements is possible from which our ordinary notions of space and time, along with those of separately existent material particles are abstracted as forms derived from the deeper order."

We've had it skewered all along. We think that what we see with our physical eyes is the whole truth. But this ordinary perception of space and time is only a derivative of the extraordinary and primary perception which we have lost--the power of thought, but which we can retrieve with a shift in our thinking and attitudes -as my friend Debra has done.
